MY NAME IS FRANZ GEISTHÖVEL
Born 24th January, 1950 in Hildesheim, Germany.
Living in Vörstetten, a village near Freiburg i. Br., Germany since the early 1970s.
I am married and I have 2 children.
I studied Human Medicine in Cologne, Berlin and Freiburg i. Br., Germany
Following my state examination, I got the medical thesis (Promotion, 1975) and my assistant professorship (Habilitation, 1985) at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University Clinic Freiburg i. Br.
I got a scientific fellowship at the University California, Irvine, USA in 1987-1988.
Together with two colleagues, I founded and directed the CERF (Center of Gynecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine Freiburg) in 1991.
In 1994, I was awarded the (“außerplanmäßiges”) professorship in the field of gynecology at the Albert Ludwig University, Freiburg.
During my career I published more than a hundred scientific papers in national and international journals.
I retired officially in 2015 and worked part-time at the CERF until 2018.
From 05-2015 to 03-2020, I received a training course in visual art at the "Kunst Kolleg" of the "University of Art, Design, and Music (hKDM) Freiburg" and the "Macromedia University Freiburg" under the supervision of Dietrich Schön in Freiburg i. Br., Germany.
Between 2015 and 2018, I have joined four one-week painting classes in Mallorca and Portugal under the supervision of Felix Eckardt, Hamburg, Germany.
Since 09-2019 I have been working in my own art studio at the "Centre of Art, Handicrafts & Culture" (“Zentrum für Kunst, Handwerk & Kultur”) in Emmendingen, Germany.
A changing selection of my works is continuously displayed in the Café “Liebes Bisschen" in Freiburg i.Br..
