Both abstract and expressionistically reduced naturalistic painting have always sparked my interest. Ideas and methods from e.g., Cezanne, van Gogh, Picasso, Braque, Gris, Matisse, Dufy, Münter, Kirchner, Schmidt-Rotluff, Nolde, Peymann, Hessen, Mondrian, Hopper, Pollock, Rothko, Klein, Stella, and Dzubas serve as my preferred role models. Based on the inspiration I received from studying great artists, I try to find my own formal language and content orientation. A major focus of my work is the creation of colors that contain bright luminosity incorporated in their own environment. Keeping apparent contradictions in a well-balanced equilibrium seems to me as a particular artistic challenge – like a mirror of daily life. My basic principle is that art should inspire and delight, emotionally and intellectually.

Between 2016 and 2018 I have developed a unique concept which serves as a certain basis for my coloristic work: matt, bright, monochromatic oil-on-canvas-plates are magnetically attached to a corresponding metal panel mounted on a wall. You can easily change the position of each table. For example, if 16 colored plates are used, more than a billion different combinations could result – you may create by yourself a novel artwork every single day of your life.
